Review: Cheryl – Love Killer

Within the last couple of days a track has surfaced on the internet called Love Killer by Cheryl.
Its completely not what I expected. It’s grimey. It’s dubstep-ed. It’s emotion. AND ITS GRIMEY. Did I mention that?
This genre of music is so IN right now. There has been a lot of “OH RIHANNA, SHE’S COPYING RIHANNA”. She hasn’t. This song is current and perfect for the summer nights.
Although slightly repetitive towards the end it still provides everything that I would want from the “New Cheryl”.
There is a LOT of hype behind her forthcoming album, A Million Lights, and if this is anything to go by then I think it’ll be a corker.
If Love Killer isn’t enough for you then have a listen to Make You Go, a Jamaican inspired song and Telescope, a soft melodic ballad where she really shows off how she can utilise those delicate vocals.
WE LOVE: The dubstep. How current it is. It is single material, not album filler.
WE DISLIKE: We keep calling it Killer Love which is a song by Nicole Scherzinger….yeah, awkward! (Also, “I’ll make ya jeans vibrate like a Nokia”. This is a bad lyric.)
We award Love Killer 3.5 stars out of 5.
