REVIEW: Amelia Lily – You Bring Me Joy

After finishing in third place in The X Factor at the end of last year, fans of feisty female Pop singers everywhere were left wondering what is next for Amelia Lily…
The good news is, she signed to Sony subsidiary label – Xenomania – started by the same production team behind some of Girls Aloud’s biggest hits. The even better news is the first song they’ve knocked out of the ballpark is a hit.
‘…Joy’ is everything you would expect from a Kelly Clarkson or P!nk record but with an Xenomania twist. It’s the perfect kiss off song to play at the end of a relationship that will surely lead to a great night out dancing with your friends.
Jumping straight into guitar riffs and infectious beats, this song is going to be treat on a live stage for the fans that were hoping to hear an album full of Pop/Rock anthems.
Perhaps the song could’ve done with skipping the middle 8 and jumping straight to the quietened chorus with Amelia’s ad libs before finishing off with the full backing track to make it sound bigger.
‘…Joy’ screams late summer anthem and I, for one, can’t wait to hear what the Xenomania team and Amelia Lily have coming up.
I award ‘You Bring Me Joy’ 3 stars out of 5.
